One night Max puts on his wolf suit and makes mischief of one kind and another, so his mother calls him 'Wild Thing' and sends him to bed without his supper. That night a forest begins to grow in Max's room and an ocean rushes by with a boat to take Max to the place where the wild things are. Max tames the wild things and crowns himself as their king, and then the wild rumpus begins. But when Max has sent the monsters to bed, and everything is quiet, he starts to feel lonely and realises it is time to sail home to the place where someone loves him best of all.
SENDAK MAURICE
Maurice Sendak nació el 10 de junio de 1928 en Brooklyn, Nueva York, hijo de inmigrantes judíos polacos. Desde joven mostró interés por el dibujo y la ilustración, lo que lo llevó a trabajar en la creación de libros infantiles. Su carrera comenzó ilustrando obras de otros autores antes de publicar sus propios textos. En 1963 apareció su libro más reconocido, Donde viven los monstruos, que lo convirtió en una figura destacada en la literatura infantil. A lo largo de su trayectoria escribió e ilustró numerosos títulos y colaboró en proyectos teatrales y operísticos. Falleció el 8 de mayo de 2012 en Connecticut.
