Martin Handford nació el 27 de septiembre de 1956 en Hampstead, Inglaterra. Es un ilustrador y autor británico conocido mundialmente por crear la serie de libros ¿Dónde está Wally?, publicada por primera vez en 1987. Antes de desarrollar al icónico personaje, trabajaba dibujando escenas con multitudes para diversos clientes. Su estilo meticuloso y detallado lo llevó a idear a Wally, un viajero vestido con camiseta a rayas rojas y blancas, gorro y gafas, que aparece oculto en ilustraciones abarrotadas. La serie se expandió con personajes como Wenda, el Mago Barbablanca y Odlaw. Sus libros han sido traducidos a más de 28 idiomas y adaptados a múltiples formatos, incluyendo series animadas y videojuegos.
