KAWAKAMI HIROMI
Hiromi Kawakami es una escritora japonesa nacida el 1 de abril de 1958 en Tokio, Japón. Es una de las autoras más reconocidas de la literatura contemporánea japonesa, con una obra que combina realismo mágico, introspección y exploración de las emociones humanas.
Estudió Ciencias Naturales en la Universidad de Ochanomizu y trabajó como profesora de biología antes de dedicarse por completo a la escritura. Su debut literario fue en 1994 con la colección de relatos Kamisama, y en 1996 ganó el prestigioso Premio Akutagawa por Hebi wo fumu. Su novela más famosa, El cielo es azul, la tierra blanca, publicada en 2001, recibió el Premio Tanizaki y fue adaptada al cine con gran éxito.
A lo largo de su carrera, ha publicado numerosas novelas y relatos, explorando temas como la soledad, el amor y la identidad. Su estilo ha sido influenciado por autores como Gabriel García Márquez, y su obra ha sido traducida a más de 15 idiomas.
