A lo largo de su carrera ha desempeñado funciones docentes, de gestión académica y de formación de profesorado en países como Venezuela, Portugal y España. Ha ejercido como presidenta de la International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language IATEFL y es autora de materiales pedagógicos y libros de texto para editoriales como Macmillan Education, entre los que figuran 500 Activities for the Primary Classroom, Bugs, Tiger Time y las series educativas de la colección Wheels.
