Dan Santat es un escritor e ilustrador estadounidense de literatura infantil, nacido en Brooklyn, Nueva York, en 1975. Se graduó en Biología por la Universidad de California en San Diego y posteriormente obtuvo su título en el Art Center College of Design. Es el creador de la serie animada de Disney The Replacements Los Sustitutos . En 2015, obtuvo la prestigiosa Medalla Caldecott por su aclamado libro álbum Las aventuras de Beekle: El amigo no imaginario.
