DE BEAUVOIR SIMONE
Simone de Beauvoir nació en París el 9 de enero de 1908 en una familia burguesa católica. Estudió Filosofía en la Sorbona, donde conoció a Jean-Paul Sartre, con quien mantuvo una relación intelectual y afectiva hasta su muerte en 1980. Fue profesora hasta 1943 y luego redactora en Les Temps modernes. Su obra más influyente, El segundo sexo 1949 , se convirtió en un pilar del feminismo moderno. Escribió novelas como La invitada y Los mandarines, por la que recibió el Premio Goncourt. Participó activamente en debates políticos, apoyó causas feministas y presidió asociaciones por los derechos de la mujer. Murió en París el 14 de abril de 1986.
