Andrzej Sapkowski es un escritor polaco nacido en Lódz el 21 de junio de 1948, célebre por crear la saga de fantasía Geralt de Rivia, también conocida como The Witcher. Comenzó su carrera literaria en 1986 con el cuento El brujo, publicado en la revista Fantastyka, y desde entonces se convirtió en uno de los autores más influyentes del género en Europa. Su estilo combina mitología eslava, humor ácido y crítica social, lo que le ha valido múltiples premios, como el Zajdel y el World Fantasy Award.
