Es autora de las novelas Cartwheeling in Thunderstorms 2014 , The Wolf Wilder 2015 y Sophie en los cielos de París 2014 , con la que ha conseguido numerosos reconocimentos y premios, entre los que se cuentan el Waterstones Children's Book y el Blue Peter Book. Es profesora asociada en el All Souls College de Oxford y en su tiempo libre disfruta practicando el funambulismo y encaramándose a los tejados de las facultades de la universidad.
