THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES
The Martian Chronicles tell the world-famous story of humanityïs repeated attempts to colonize the red planet. The first men were few. Most succumbed to a disease called the Great Loneliness when they saw their home planet dwindle to the size of a fist. They felt they had never been born. Those few that survived found no welcome on Mars. The shape-changing Martians thought they were native lunatics and duly locked them up. But more rockets arrived from Earth, and more, piercing the hallucinations projected by the Martians. People brought their old prejudices with them - and their desires and fantasies, tainted dreams. These were soon inhabited by the strange native beings, with their caged flowers and birds of flame.

BRADBURY RAY
Ray Douglas Bradbury nació el 22 de agosto de 1920 en Waukegan, Illinois, Estados Unidos, y falleció el 5 de junio de 2012 en Los Ángeles, California. Hijo de Leonard Spaulding Bradbury y Esther Marie Moberg, se trasladó con su familia en varias ocasiones durante su infancia antes de establecerse definitivamente en Los Ángeles. Se graduó en la escuela secundaria en 1938 y trabajó como vendedor de periódicos mientras comenzaba a escribir relatos. Publicó su primera recopilación destacada, Crónicas marcianas, en 1950, y en 1953 apareció su novela Fahrenheit 451, que fue adaptada al cine. Su producción abarcó géneros como la ciencia ficción, la fantasía y el terror, con títulos como El hombre ilustrado y La feria de las tinieblas. Estuvo casado con Marguerite McClure desde 1947 hasta 2003 y tuvo cuatro hijas. Su carrera se extendió desde 1938 hasta 2012, con publicaciones en revistas y editoriales internacionales, consolidando una obra que se difundió ampliamente en literatura y medios audiovisuales.
