Hans Christian Andersen fue un escritor y poeta danés nacido en Odense en 1805 y fallecido en Copenhague en 1875. Aunque cultivó diversos géneros literarios como la novela, el teatro, la poesía y los libros de viajes, su reconocimiento internacional se consolidó a través de sus cuentos de hadas y relatos infantiles.
