Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron Dunsany 1878-1957 , commonly known as Lord Dunsany. He was an Anglo-Irish prolific writer, of novels, dramas, short stories, and poetry. An aristocrat whose nobility dates back to medieval times. The author is considered one of the first and most important writers of Fantastic modern literature. He has been described as a "fantasist of fantasists," and his work has greatly influenced a genre dating back to medieval romances, populated by wizards and dragons, arriving at the edge of contemporary science fiction.
