David Walliams, cuyo nombre de nacimiento es David Edward Williams, nació el 20 de agosto de 1971 en Merton, Surrey, Inglaterra. Estudió en la Universidad de Bristol, donde se graduó en Artes en 1992 y participó en el National Youth Theatre. Es actor, comediante, presentador de televisión y escritor, conocido por su trabajo en la serie Little Britain junto a Matt Lucas. Ha publicado numerosos libros infantiles y juveniles traducidos a decenas de idiomas, entre ellos Spacechimp. Su carrera literaria comenzó en 2008 y desde entonces ha trabajado con editoriales como HarperCollins y ha alcanzado gran difusión internacional. Actualmente reside en Londres.
