From his seat in the tiny aeroplane, Fred watches as the mysteries of the Amazon jungle pass by below him. He has always dreamed of becoming an explorer, of making history and of reading his name amongst the lists of great discoveries. If only he could land and look about him.
As the plane crashes into the canopy, Fred is suddenly left without a choice. He and the three other children may be alive, but the jungle is a vast, untamed place. With no hope of rescue, the chance of getting home feels impossibly small.

KATHERINE RUNDELL
Creció en Londres, Zimbabwe y Bélgica. Estudió Literatura Inglesa en la Universidad de Oxford y en 2008 se convirtió en miembro del All Souls College, donde trabaja como investigadora en literatura renacentista. Entre sus libros para niños se encuentran Rooftoppers 2013 , The Wolf Wilder 2015 y The Explorer 2017 , ganador del premio Costa. También ha publicado libros de no ficción: The Golden Mole, un catálogo de extraordinarios animales en peligro de extinción, y Super-Infinite: The Transformations of John Donne, que ganó el premio Baillie Gifford de no ficción.

RUNDELL KATHERINE
Kent, Inglaterra, 1987 ha vivido en Harare, Bruselas y Londres. Es autora de las novelas Cartwheeling in Thunderstorms 2014 , The Wolf Wilder 2015 y Sophie en los cielos de París 2014 , con la que ha conseguido numerosos reconocimentos y premios, entre los que se cuentan el Waterstones Children's Book y el Blue Peter Book. Es profesora asociada en el All Souls College de Oxford y en su tiempo libre disfruta practicando el funambulismo y encaramándose a los tejados de las facultades de la universidad.
