Roald Dahl nació el 13 de septiembre de 1916 en Llandaff, Gales, en el seno de una familia de origen noruego. Su estilo se caracteriza por el humor negro, la fantasía y personajes memorables. Falleció el 23 de noviembre de 1990 en Oxford, Inglaterra.
