MARIEKE LUCAS RIJNEVELD
Marieke Lucas Rijneveld es una autora holandesa nacida el 20 de abril de 1991 en Nieuwendijk. Se crio en el seno de una familia religiosa en una granja en Brabante del Norte, donde trabaja y escribe. Se formó para ser profesora, pero pronto abandonó tal pretensión para convertirse en escritora.
Su interés por la literatura le vino desde muy pequeña cuando leyó Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal. Rijneveld también siente una gran inclinación por la poesía.
Su debut literario, La inquietud de la noche, fue galardonado con el ANV Debut Prize y nominado al Premio Booker Internacional y al Libris Prize. Inspirándose en la muerte de su hermano cuando ella tenía tres años, la autora escribió una novela sobre el duelo.
