FUNKE CORNELIA
Cornelia Funke nació el 10 de diciembre de 1958 en Dorsten, Alemania. Estudió pedagogía e ilustración en Hamburgo y trabajó como trabajadora social con niños desfavorecidos, experiencia que influyó profundamente en sus historias. Comenzó su carrera como ilustradora de libros infantiles, pero pronto se sintió motivada a escribir sus propios relatos debido al aburrimiento que le provocaban los textos que debía ilustrar. A los 35 años publicó su primer libro y desde entonces ha escrito más de cuarenta obras traducidas a más de treinta idiomas. Su estilo combina fantasía, magia y una narrativa rica en detalles visuales, lo que ha conectado fuertemente con el público juvenil.
