Italo Calvino en italiano: 15 de octubre de 1923 - 19 de septiembre de 1985 fue un periodista y escritor italiano de relatos y novelas. Admirado en Gran Bretaña y Estados Unidos, fue el escritor italiano contemporáneo más traducido al momento de su muerte y aspirante al Premio Nobel de Literatura.
