The idea for this story came from Helen Rutter's son, who has a stammer: she wanted to write the book that he would love to read, starring a child like him.

Helen Rutter es una autora británica de literatura infantil y juvenil. Vive en el campo, cerca de Sheffield, junto a su esposo, que es comediante, sus dos hijos y sus perros, Ronnie y Billy Whizz. Antes de dedicarse a la escritura, trabajó en el mundo del teatro, escribiendo e interpretando sus propias obras en el escenario. Su primer papel fue en Double Act de Jacqueline Wilson, lo que marcó el inicio de su conexión con la literatura infantil.
Su primera novela, The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh, fue un éxito y consolidó su carrera como escritora. Desde entonces, ha publicado otros títulos como The Funniest Boy in the World y El niño que hizo realidad sus sueños, donde combina humor y sensibilidad para abordar temas como la confianza y la superación personal.
