Katarína Macurová nació en Bratislava, Eslovaquia, en 1983. Estudió ilustración y diseño de libros en la Academia de Bellas Artes y Diseño de Bratislava, donde completó su formación académica. Se desempeña profesionalmente como autora e ilustradora de libros infantiles y álbumes ilustrados. Sus obras han sido traducidas a múltiples idiomas y publicadas en diversos países de Europa, América y Asia. Ha recibido reconocimientos internacionales por su trabajo gráfico, entre los que destaca el premio Communication Arts Award of Excellence en Estados Unidos. Combina la creación de proyectos editoriales propios con la realización de trabajos de ilustración comercial e imparte talleres artísticos.
