Kyla May es una ilustradora, escritora y diseñadora australiana nacida el 29 de mayo de 1970 en Melbourne. Comenzó su carrera como fotógrafa antes de estudiar diseño en la Universidad RMIT, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en Comunicación Visual y Diseño Gráfico. Es creadora e ilustradora de más de 50 libros infantiles, entre ellos las series Juliet, Nearly a Vet, Diary of a Pug, Paris Takes Over the World, Lotus Lane, The Sloth Life y The Underdogs. Además de libros, ha desarrollado series animadas para televisión y ha diseñado juguetes. Vive cerca de la playa en Victoria, Australia, junto a sus tres hijas, dos perros y dos gatos.
