VALERIE THOMAS
Valerie Thomas is the author of the much-loved Winnie the Witch books. Valerie was born in Australia and has lived there for most of her life. She has worked as a teacher, but her special hobby is travelling, and she has travelled to most parts of the world, even Antarctica, but she doesn't travel by broomstick.
KORKY PAUL
Korky Paul studied art at the Durban School of Art in Natal, South Africa and then spent three years working for an advertising agency in Cape Town. In 1976 as Korky puts it he "fled for Europe" and got a job illustrating and designing educational books in Greece. He then spent some time working for an advertising agency in London and Los Angeles and then studied film animation at Cal Arts in California.
Korky Paul is married with two children. He works in Oxford but spends the summer living it up in Greece.

Valerie Thomas es una escritora australiana nacida en 1940, conocida internacionalmente por ser la autora de la exitosa serie infantil "Winnie the Witch", traducida al español como "La bruja Brunilda". A lo largo de su carrera ha trabajado como profesora y ha viajado extensamente, incluyendo una estadía en Europa durante seis años y una visita a la Antártida. Su pasión por los viajes ha influido en algunos de sus textos. En 1987 ganó el Premio al Libro Infantil del Año por la primera entrega de "Winnie the Witch", ilustrada por Korky Paul. La serie ha vendido millones de ejemplares en todo el mundo y se ha convertido en un referente del humor y la fantasía para niños a partir de tres años. Además de los cuentos, también ha publicado libros de actividades, libros educativos y versiones temáticas de Winnie y su gato Wilbur.
