Isaac Asimov circa January 2, 1920 - April 6, 1992 was an American author and professor of biochemistry at Boston University, best known for his works of science fiction and for his popular science books. Asimov was prolific and wrote or edited more than 500 books and an estimated 90,000 letters and postcards. His books have been published in 9 of the 10 major categories of the Dewey Decimal Classification.

ASIMOV ISAAC
Isaac Asimov nació el 2 de enero de 1920 en Petrovichi, Rusia, y emigró con su familia a Estados Unidos en 1923, estableciéndose en Brooklyn. Estudió en la Universidad de Columbia, donde obtuvo el doctorado en bioquímica en 1948, y trabajó como profesor en la Universidad de Boston. Comenzó a publicar relatos de ciencia ficción en 1939 y alcanzó reconocimiento con la serie de la Fundación y obras como Yo, robot. Escribió también divulgación científica y ensayos históricos. Utilizó seudónimos como Paul French. Falleció en Nueva York el 6 de abril de 1992 a los 72 años.
