Ready to Read is a systematic, interactive reading programme that develops learning confidence in the pre-school child in 3 simple steps. The Ready to Read series targets reading confidence in words from carefully chosen topics of immediate relevance to the child, including self, family, colours, numbers and common nouns. Step 1 The child is introduced to the target words. Step 2 The child practices using the target words. Step 3 The child confidently reads the target words in context. Each book is comprised of units corresponding with each of the 3-steps, where new words are introduced, practised and then reviewed. Books 1, 2 and 3 build on concepts and skills introduced throughout the series. After using the books in sequence, the child will be able to read nearly 300 words fluently.
