Kimberly Dean nació el 11 de septiembre de 1961 en Oakland, California, Estados Unidos. Es escritora y ha desarrollado dos vertientes principales en su carrera. Por un lado, es autora de literatura romántica y erótica contemporánea, con más de veinte años de trayectoria, en la que ha publicado novelas y relatos que incluyen géneros como romance paranormal y fantasía, siendo finalista del premio RITA de la Romance Writers of America y ganadora del EPIC Award en la categoría de erotismo. Por otro lado, junto a James Dean ha trabajado en la creación de libros infantiles, entre ellos títulos de la serie Pete the Cat.
