GIBSON WILLIAM
William Ford Gibson nació el 17 de marzo de 1948 en Conway, Carolina del Sur. Pasó su infancia en Wytheville, Virginia, y tras la muerte de su padre se trasladó con su madre a Norfolk. En 1968 emigró a Canadá, donde se vinculó con la contracultura y comenzó a escribir relatos de ciencia ficción. Estudió en la Universidad de Columbia Británica, donde obtuvo un título en literatura inglesa en 1977. En 1984 publicó Neuromante, obra que introdujo el término ciberespacio. Reside en Vancouver, está casado con Deborah Jean Thompson desde 1972 y tiene dos hijos.
