Jennifer Lynn Barnes nació en Tulsa, Oklahoma, en 1984. Es una escritora estadounidense especializada en novelas para jóvenes adultos. Se doctoró en Psicología, Psiquiatría y Ciencias Cognitivas en la Universidad de Yale en 2012, y también estudió en la Universidad de Cambridge con una beca Fulbright. Actualmente es profesora de Psicología y Redacción Profesional en la Universidad de Oklahoma. Comenzó a escribir desde muy joven y terminó su primera novela completa a los diecinueve años.
