KADONO EIKO
Eiko Kadono nació el 1 de enero de 1935 en Tokio, Japón. Es escritora de literatura infantil, libros ilustrados, ensayos y textos de no ficción. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial fue evacuada a Yamagata y luego a Chiba, experiencias que marcaron su obra. Estudió literatura inglesa en la Universidad de Waseda y vivió dos años en Brasil, lo que inspiró su primera novela infantil publicada en 1970. Su obra más conocida es Majo no Takkyubin, adaptada por Hayao Miyazaki como Kiki: entregas a domicilio. Ha recibido premios como el Noma de literatura infantil, la Medalla con Cinta Púrpura y el Hans Christian Andersen en 2018. Ha escrito más de 200 libros y continúa activa en el ámbito literario.
