Matthew McConaughey nació el 4 de noviembre de 1969 en Uvalde, Texas, Estados Unidos. Estudió en la Universidad de Texas en Austin y comenzó su carrera como actor en la década de 1990, participando en películas como Dazed and Confused, Contact, The Wedding Planner, Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar y The Wolf of Wall Street. Ha trabajado también como productor y escritor. En 2020 publicó el libro Greenlights, una mezcla de memorias y reflexiones personales, y en 2023 lanzó el libro infantil Just Because. Está casado con Camila Alves desde 2012 y tienen tres hijos. Vive en Austin, Texas.
