Jessica Love es actriz de teatro e ilustradora estadounidense. Creció en el sur de California, sus padres eran artistas. Licenciada en Bellas Artes y Arte Dramático. Actualmente vive en Hudson Valley con su pareja, Daniel, y su hijo. Love ilustra a mano cada uno de sus libros con tinta, gouache y acuarela. Un aspecto interesante de sus libros es que utiliza papel marrón. Al principio probó con papel blanco, pero dice que "había algo que no funcionaba". Su primer libro "Sirenas" ha sido editado por Kókinos, Jessica afirma que iba a ser un libro sin palabras, pero cuando enseñó los primeros bocetos, vio que faltaba información y tuvo mucho cuidado de no desviar la atención de las ilustraciones y ser sutil en la narrativa.
