DU MAURIER DAPHNE
Daphne du Maurier 1907-1989 nació en Londres, Inglaterra. En 1931 se publicó su primera novela, The Loving Spirit. A continuación, se publicaron una biografía de su padre y otras tres novelas, pero fue la novela Rebecca la que la lanzó a la estratosfera literaria y la convirtió en una de las autoras más populares de su época. En 1932, du Maurier se casó con el mayor Frederick Browning, con quien tuvo tres hijos.
Muchas de las novelas y cuentos más vendidos de du Maurier fueron adaptados a películas premiadas, entre ellas Los pájaros, de Alfred Hitchcock, y No mires ahora, de Nicolas Roeg. En 1969, du Maurier recibió la distinción de Dama Comendadora de la Excelentísima Orden del Imperio Británico DBE . Vivió la mayor parte de su vida en Cornualles y murió allí, que es el escenario de muchos de sus libros.
