David Bellos 1945-2025 fue un académico, traductor y biógrafo británico, profesor de francés y literatura comparada en la Universidad de Princeton. Escribió biografías de Romain Gary, Georges Perec y Jacques Tati, además de estudios sobre Balzac y Los Miserables de Victor Hugo. También publicó el influyente ensayo sobre traducción Is That a Fish in Your Ear? 2011 . Su trabajo combinó erudición, claridad y un profundo interés por los procesos de creación literaria.
