J.M. Coetzee's work includes Waiting for the Barbarians, Life Times of Michael K, Boyhood, Youth, Disgrace, Summertime, The Childhood of Jesus and, most recently, The Schooldays of Jesus. He was the first author to win the Booker Prize twice and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2003.

COETZEE J. M.
John Maxwell Coetzee nació en Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica, el 9 de febrero de 1940. Estudió Matemáticas y Filología Inglesa en la Universidad de Ciudad del Cabo y luego obtuvo un doctorado en Lingüística en la Universidad de Texas. Trabajó como programador informático en el Reino Unido y fue profesor de Literatura en Estados Unidos y Sudáfrica. En 2002 se trasladó a Australia, donde adquirió la nacionalidad en 2006. Su obra aborda temas como el apartheid, la opresión y la identidad, con un estilo introspectivo y crítico. Ha recibido numerosos premios, incluidos dos Booker Prize y el Nobel de Literatura en 2003, consolidándose como una figura clave de la literatura contemporánea.
