Kamila Shamsie nació y creció en Karachi, Pakistán. Es autora de siete novelas, entre ellas Burnt Shadows, preseleccionada para el Premio Orange, y A God in Every Stone, preseleccionada para el Premio Women's Bailey's y el Premio Walter Scott. Su novela Home Fire ganó el Premio Femenino de Ficción en 2018. También fue preseleccionada para el Premio Man Booker 2017, preseleccionada para el Premio Costa a la Mejor Novela y ganó el Premio Helénico de Londres. Su obra ha sido traducida a más de treinta idiomas. Kamila Shamsie es miembro y vicepresidenta de la Royal Society of Literature y fue nombrada Mejor Novelista Británica Joven por la Fundación Granta en 2013. Es profesora de escritura creativa en la Universidad de Manchester. Reside en Londres.
