Liane Moriarty nació el 15 de noviembre de 1966 en Sídney, Australia. Es autora de novelas exitosas como Big Little Lies, The Husband's Secret y Nine Perfect Strangers, varias de ellas adaptadas a series de televisión. Antes de dedicarse a la escritura, trabajó en publicidad y marketing y fundó su propia agencia como redactora publicitaria. Obtuvo una maestría en la Universidad Macquarie, donde escribió su primera novela, Three Wishes, publicada en 2004.
