Liz Pichon nació en Londres el 16 de agosto de 1963. Estudió diseño gráfico en la Camberwell School of Art y trabajó como directora artística en la compañía musical Jive Records antes de dedicarse a la ilustración y escritura de libros infantiles. Vive en Brighton y ha desarrollado una carrera como autora e ilustradora de cuentos para niños, destacándose con la serie Tom Gates iniciada en 2011 con El genial mundo de Tom Gates. Sus obras han sido traducidas a numerosos idiomas y han recibido premios como el Roald Dahl Funny Prize, el Red House Children's Book Award y el Waterstone's Children's Book Prize.
