Suzanne Collins has had a successful and prolific career writing for children's television. She has worked on the staffs of several Nickelodeon shows, including the Emmy-nominated hit Clarissa Explains It All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. Collins made her mark in children's literature with the New York Times bestselling five-book series for middle-grade readers The Underland Chronicles, which has received numerous accolades in both the United States and abroad. In the award-winning The Hunger Games trilogy, Collins continues to explore the effects of war and violence on those coming of age. Collins lives with her family in Connecticut.

COLLINS SUZANNE
Escritora de literatura juvenil y guionista americana, Suzanne Collins estudió Arte, Teatro y Comunicación en la Universidad de Indiana, completando su formación con un máster en Escritura Dramática. Collins es conocida a nivel internacional por su saga Los juegos del hambre. Su carrera comenzó en 1991 como guionista en la cadena Nickelodeon. Tras conocer a James Plumiew, un escritor de libros infantiles, Collins se inspiró y comenzó a escribir sus propios libros del género. En 2003 publicó su primera novela, Gregor: Las Tierras Bajas, cuya historia se vio influida por la de Las aventuras de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas de Lewis Carroll. Con esta novela daría comienzo su primera saga, Las Crónicas de las Tierras Bajas.
Fue en 2008 con la publicación de Los juegos del hambre, la primera de la trilogía bajo el mismo nombre, que Collins saltó a la fama. La serie, formada también por En llamas y Sinsajo fue adaptada a la gran pantalla y marcó un antes y un después para el público juvenil. Una década después se publica la precuela de la trilogía, Balada de pájaros cantores y serpientes, protagonizada por el antagonista de los libros originales y, en 2025, ve la luz un libro centrado en Haymitch, Amanecer en la cosecha.
