Kristin Hannah es una escritora estadounidense nacida el 25 de septiembre de 1960 en Garden Grove, California. Estudió Comunicación en la Universidad de Washington y luego Derecho en la University of Puget Sound, ejerciendo como abogada en Seattle antes de dedicarse a la literatura. Comenzó a escribir junto a su madre durante su enfermedad terminal, aunque ese primer libro nunca fue publicado.
