Scott Braden Cawthon nació el 4 de junio de 1978 en Houston, Texas. Es un desarrollador de videojuegos, escritor y productor estadounidense, conocido mundialmente por ser el creador de la saga Five Nights at Freddy's, iniciada en 2014 y convertida en un fenómeno cultural. Estudió animación por computadora en The Art Institute of Houston y comenzó su carrera en proyectos de animación y videojuegos de corte cristiano, como The Pilgrim's Progress y títulos para Hope Animation. Tras varios intentos poco exitosos, alcanzó fama con FNaF, que generó múltiples secuelas, libros y una película. Se retiró del desarrollo activo en 2021 para dedicarse a su familia.
