The Diary of a Nobody is so unassuming a work that even its author, George Grossmith, seemed unaware that he had produced a masterpiece. If you don't recognise yourself at some point in The Diary you are probably less than human. If you can read it without laughing aloud you have no sense of humour.

GROSSMITH GEORGE
George Grossmith 1847-1912 fue un actor, cantante, compositor y escritor británico, célebre por sus papeles cómicos en las óperas de Gilbert y Sullivan. Durante más de una década, interpretó personajes como Ko-Ko en The Mikado y Sir Joseph en H.M.S. Pinafore. También coescribió The Diary of a Nobody con su hermano Weedon, una sátira sobre la clase media victoriana que se convirtió en un clásico. Su estilo humorístico y su talento multifacético lo consolidaron como una figura influyente en el teatro y la literatura inglesa.
