SAINT AUGUSTINE
Agustín de Hipona, conocido como San Agustín, fue un célebre filósofo y teólogo romano, nacido el 13 de noviembre de 354 y fallecido el 28 de agosto de 430. Considerado uno de los máximos doctores de la Iglesia católica y figura cumbre de la patrística, su pensamiento fusionó de manera brillante el neoplatonismo con el cristianismo. Autor de una prolífica obra escrita, sus títulos más influyentes son Las Confesiones 397 , pionera en el género de la autobiografía espiritual, y La ciudad de Dios 426 , un tratado teológico-político que moldeó de forma definitiva la filosofía y la cultura de la Europa medieval.
