HUXLEY ALDOUS
Aldous Leonard Huxley nació el 26 de julio de 1894 en Godalming, Inglaterra. Fue hijo de Leonard Huxley y Julia Huxley, nieto de Thomas Henry Huxley y hermano del biólogo Julian Huxley. Estudió en Eton College y posteriormente en Balliol College, Oxford, donde se graduó en literatura inglesa. En su juventud sufrió problemas de visión que marcaron su vida. Se desempeñó como poeta, novelista, ensayista y guionista. Contrajo matrimonio con Maria Huxley y luego con Laura Huxley. Escribió más de un centenar de libros de los géneros más diversos, entre los que destacan Un mundo feliz, La isla y Las puertas de la percepción. Murió de cáncer en su residencia de Los Ángeles en 1963, bajo los efectos del LSD que había solicitado su esposa mientras esta le recitaba al oído textos sagrados.
