Yusei Matsui es un mangaka japonés nacido el 31 de enero de 1979 en Saitama, Japón. Comenzó su carrera como asistente de Yoshio Sawai, creador de Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, antes de lanzar sus propias obras. Es conocido por mangas como Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro 2005-2009 y Ansatsu Kyoshitsu Assassination Classroom, 2012-2016 , ambos serializados en la revista Shonen Jump. En 2021, inició la publicación de Nige Jozu no Wakagimi, un manga de temática histórica.
