MONTGOMERY LUCY MAUD
Lucy Maud Montgomery nació el 30 de noviembre de 1874 en Clifton, Isla del Príncipe Eduardo, Canadá, y falleció el 24 de abril de 1942 en Toronto. Desde pequeña mostró interés por la escritura y comenzó a redactar poesía a los nueve años. Estudió en Prince of Wales College y en la Universidad de Dalhousie, donde obtuvo formación en literatura y enseñanza. Trabajó como maestra y colaboró con periódicos antes de dedicarse plenamente a la narrativa. En 1908 publicó Ana de las Tejas Verdes, primera de una serie de ocho novelas que le dieron reconocimiento internacional. También escribió otras obras como Emily, la de Luna Nueva y El Castillo Azul, además de poesía y relatos.
