METTLER RENE
René Mettler 1942 recibió el Premio de Libros de Ciencia para Adolescentes en París en 2012. Sus raíces artísticas se remontan a un abuelo heráldico. Tras graduarse en la Escuela de Artes Aplicadas de Bienne, París lo atrajo en 1966. Comenzó trabajando en dirección artística en grandes almacenes y agencias de publicidad, y luego trabajó en un estudio de diseño. Durante una visita a Londres en 1971, se enamoró de la ilustración, lo que lo llevó a dedicarse a este oficio. A partir de 1985, colaboró con Gallimard Jeunesse como ilustrador y autor en una gran cantidad de títulos de no ficción, ganando múltiples premios por su obra maestra, El gran libro de los árboles y los bosques.
